Consumer statutory rights, Electrical4Less voluntary 30-day returns and Business Customer returns
Last updated: 27 August 2026
This policy deliberately separates three different situations: (1) Consumer statutory rights, (2) Electrical4Less’s voluntary 30-day change-of-mind policy, and (3) Business Customer returns. The rules are different, so please use the section that applies to your purchase.
Capitalised terms used in this Policy have the meanings given to them in our Terms & Conditions of Sale. ‘Business Customer’ includes trade customers and any person acting wholly or mainly for business, trade, craft or professional purposes.
Returns email: returns@electrical4less.co.uk. Please include your Order number and a clear description of the reason for the return.
Return address: Electrical4Less Ltd, 9 Seagrave Road, London, SW6 1RP.
For voluntary returns and Business Customer returns, please obtain return instructions before sending Goods. A Consumer does not lose a statutory cancellation right merely because prior authorisation was not obtained.
If you are a Consumer who bought online or by another distance-selling method, you normally have a statutory right to cancel without giving a reason, subject to statutory exceptions. For a single delivery, you must tell us that you are cancelling within 14 calendar days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you other than the carrier, receives the Goods. Where one Order contains multiple Goods delivered on different days, the period ends 14 days after the last item is received. Where Goods are delivered in multiple lots or pieces, it ends 14 days after the last lot or piece is received. For regular delivery of Goods over a defined period, it ends 14 days after the first delivery is received.
After telling us that you are cancelling, you must return the Goods without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after the cancellation notice, unless we agree to collect them.
You may handle Goods to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, similar to what would normally be permitted in a shop. If handling goes beyond that and reduces the value, we may make a proportionate deduction from the statutory cancellation refund, but only where we provided the information required by law about the right to cancel before the Contract was formed.
We will refund without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after receiving the returned Goods or, if earlier, after you provide evidence that you have sent them back. Unless we have offered to collect the Goods, we may withhold the refund until we receive the Goods or evidence that they have been sent back, whichever happens first. Where we have offered to collect the Goods, the statutory refund period runs from the day on which you inform us of the cancellation.
Important: an ordinary product does not automatically lose a Consumer’s statutory cancellation right merely because it was sourced from a supplier, described as ‘special order’ or ordered in after you purchased it.
In addition to statutory rights, Electrical4Less offers a voluntary 30-day change-of-mind return policy for eligible Goods. You must contact us within 30 calendar days of delivery.
If you are still within a valid statutory cancellation period, your statutory rights take priority. We will not use the voluntary policy to reduce a statutory refund.
We may check model numbers, serial numbers, batch identifiers, accessories and other identifying features to confirm that returned Goods are the Goods supplied by Electrical4Less. Goods that do not match our records, or returns reasonably suspected to involve substitution, tampering or fraud, may be held while we investigate and may be refused under the voluntary policy. Statutory rights are not affected.
Business and trade purchases do not have the Consumer statutory cooling-off right. Electrical4Less nevertheless offers a voluntary 30-day return facility for eligible correctly supplied unwanted Goods.
We may check model numbers, serial numbers, batch identifiers, accessories and other identifying features. Goods that do not match our supply records, or returns reasonably suspected to involve substitution, tampering or fraud, may be held while we investigate and may be refused.
If a voluntary full or partial return means that the Goods retained no longer satisfy a discount, quantity break, bundle, free-delivery threshold or other promotion that applied to the original Order, we may recalculate the voluntary refund using the price and delivery terms that would have applied to the Goods retained. Any free gift supplied as part of the promotion must also be returned unused and complete, or a reasonable deduction reflecting its value may be made. This does not reduce any mandatory Consumer statutory refund entitlement. Any recalculation or deduction will be reasonable and clearly explained, and we will not deduct or recover the same delivery cost, discount, promotional benefit or other amount more than once.
The following Goods are excluded from our voluntary change-of-mind return policies only where the relevant exclusion was clearly stated in these Terms, on the product page, in a quotation, or in other information provided before the Order was placed:
For Consumers, these voluntary exclusions do not remove statutory rights where Goods are faulty, misdescribed or incorrectly supplied, and they do not remove the statutory change-of-mind right unless a legal exception genuinely applies.
Consumer rights for faulty Goods are separate from change-of-mind returns. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Contact returns@electrical4less.co.uk. We may request photographs, installation details or a reasonable opportunity to inspect or test the Goods. Where the law requires us to pay return or collection costs for faulty, misdescribed or incorrectly supplied Goods, we will do so.
Business Customer claims are governed by the applicable Contract terms and business sale law. Please notify us in writing promptly after discovering a problem and give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect or test the Goods.
Where a Business Customer establishes a breach of an applicable contractual obligation, then subject to applicable law and the circumstances, we may repair, replace, re-supply or refund the affected Goods.
We are not responsible for problems caused by misuse, incorrect installation, unauthorised repair or alteration, abnormal conditions, failure to follow instructions or good trade practice, negligence, accident or normal wear and tear.
Please check deliveries as soon as reasonably possible. Report any shortage, visible transit damage, opened or resealed parcel, incorrect item or other delivery discrepancy immediately and, wherever reasonably practicable, within 24 hours.
Quick reporting helps us preserve courier tracking, parcel-weight information, warehouse records, CCTV or photographs, supplier evidence and packaging evidence. A Consumer does not automatically lose statutory rights because a genuine problem is reported after 24 hours.
Please retain all packaging and courier labels until we confirm they are no longer required.
Where a delivery is refused, not collected, returned to sender or cannot be completed because the customer supplied an incorrect or incomplete address or failed to follow reasonable carrier instructions, we may deduct the reasonable additional courier, return-to-sender, redelivery or storage costs actually incurred by us from any voluntary or Business Customer refund, provided the failure was not caused by us or our carrier. Consumer statutory cancellation and delivery rights are not restricted.
Electrical Goods and manufacturer boxes should be protected inside suitable outer courier packaging. Do not place courier labels, writing or strong tape directly onto manufacturer retail packaging where this would damage its resale condition.
For voluntary Consumer returns and Business Customer returns, you are responsible for arranging suitable return carriage and for protecting and insuring the Goods until they are received by us. We recommend a tracked service with sufficient compensation cover.
Different rules apply where a Consumer has exercised a statutory cancellation right or where we have arranged the return of faulty, incorrect or misdescribed Goods; nothing in this section reduces statutory rights.
Refunds required by Consumer law will be made using the same means of payment used for the original transaction unless you expressly agree otherwise, and we will not charge any fee for making the refund. Voluntary Consumer refunds and Business Customer refunds or credits may be made to the original payment method or by another method agreed between us and the customer.
Refunded within the statutory period described in section 2.3. Standard outbound delivery is refunded as required by law; premium delivery above the standard amount is not.
Once the returned Goods have been received and checked, we aim to process an approved voluntary refund promptly and in any event within 14 calendar days after approval. Original delivery charges are not refunded and any permitted deductions under this policy may be applied.
Approved Business Customer refunds or credits will normally be processed within 14 calendar days after the returned Goods have been received, inspected and approved. Original delivery charges are not refunded and applicable return, carriage, restocking or handling deductions may be applied in accordance with this policy.
An automated Order Acknowledgement does not normally constitute acceptance. Before a Contract is formed, you may withdraw your Order and we may decline it.
Bespoke, made-to-specification, cut-to-length, specially configured or specifically procured Goods may be expressly accepted before dispatch so that processing can begin. If a Contract has already been formed for those Goods, cancellation rights depend on customer status, the agreed terms and applicable law.
For Consumers, an ordinary supplier-sourced or ‘special order’ item is not automatically excluded from statutory cancellation rights merely because we did not hold it in stock.
For Business Customers, once we have expressly accepted an Order for special-order, non-stock, supplier-direct, bespoke, configured, cut-to-length or other Goods procured specifically for that Business Customer, there is no automatic change-of-mind cancellation right. If we agree to cancel, we may recover reasonable irrecoverable supplier cancellation, restocking, carriage, customisation or other direct costs actually incurred, without double recovery and after taking reasonable steps to mitigate avoidable loss.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or replaces rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Consumer statutory rights include rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Complete and return this form only if you wish to cancel a Contract. You may instead send us any other clear statement of cancellation.

Cut-Off Time and Order Information
To ensure your order qualifies for next day delivery, please place your order by 3:00 PM. This is subject to all items being available on the shelf at the time of your order. For orders where the total value exceeds £200 + VAT (double our standard carriage-paid order value of £100 + VAT), we are happy to split the delivery into two shipments if some items are needed urgently and others are not immediately available. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to us via WhatsApp for live support. We’re here to help!
Free Next-Day Delivery Over £100 + VAT:
Orders above £100 + VAT qualify for free next-day delivery via DPD for in-stock items. While we strive for timely dispatch, we recommend placing orders early to avoid potential delays. Once dispatched, unexpected issues may arise despite the courier’s efforts.
Orders Below £200 + VAT:
To keep costs manageable, we dispatch your order once all items are ready, including products with longer lead times.
Need items faster? You can pay for an additional delivery service to receive in-stock items sooner. Simply email us with your order details, and we’ll send you a payment link for the extra delivery cost.
Orders Above £200 + VAT:
For larger orders, we can split delivery at no extra cost. In-stock items will be sent immediately, with the remaining items dispatched once available.
This item may be sourced from our supplier before dispatch.
The lead time shown is an estimate only and is based on the usual supplier timeframe. It is subject to supplier availability and is not a guaranteed delivery date.
We do not have a live supplier stock feed, so supplier stock can change without notice.
Delivery timers and courier estimates apply once the item is available for dispatch.
If the item is unavailable, we will contact you with the available options, including waiting for stock, choosing an alternative product, cancellation, or a refund for the unavailable item.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
No problem — message us directly on WhatsApp and we’ll help you out.
We usually respond within minutes during working hours.
