While Niglon Protego consumer units do not come with built-in surge protection, you can easily upgrade your installation with the NSA2-240 Type 2 Surge Protection Kit, available separately from Electrical4Less.
This SPD kit is designed specifically for use with TN-S, TN-C-S, and TT earthing systems, and it provides critical protection against transient overvoltages as required by 18th Edition Amendment 2 regulations.
It installs directly inside the Protego consumer unit and is pre-wired with live, earth and neutral cables for fast fitting. If your main service fuse is 125A or lower, no separate MCB is required.
