WCED WRB110B-030 Bi-Directional RCBO
The WCED WRB110B-030 Bi-Directional RCBO is a 10A B Curve protective device from the Whitecliffe Electrical WRB1 range, designed to combine overload, short-circuit and residual current protection within a compact single-module housing. With 30mA Type A high-immunity detection and a 6kA breaking capacity, it provides an efficient solution for individual circuit protection in compatible consumer units.
Its 10A rating and B Curve characteristic make it an option for appropriately designed circuits with relatively low inrush currents. The WRB110B-030 also features bi-directional capability, allowing it to be considered for compatible solar photovoltaic installations where power flow may vary.

10A B Curve Protection for Lower-Current Circuits
The WRB110B-030 provides a 10A rating with a B Curve tripping characteristic, generally used where starting or inrush currents are relatively low. Potential applications include suitably rated lighting circuits, fixed electrical equipment and other appropriately designed final circuits.
The combined RCBO arrangement provides residual current and overcurrent protection for one circuit, helping limit disruption to unaffected circuits when a fault occurs.
Bi-Directional Operation for Solar PV Installations
The WCED WRB110B-030 Bi-Directional RCBO belongs to the manufacturer’s WRB1 range, developed for bi-directional use in electrical installations.
This design can be advantageous for selected solar PV applications where electricity may flow in more than one direction. Protective device selection must consider the characteristics of the inverter, circuit arrangement and applicable installation requirements.
WCED specifies connection from the bottom, and installers should always follow the manufacturer’s terminal markings and wiring instructions.
Type A High-Immunity Residual Current Detection
The WRB110B-030 detects sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC residual fault currents, providing Type A protection for suitable modern electrical equipment. This offers broader residual current detection than conventional Type AC devices.
Its 30mA residual current sensitivity provides additional protection against electric shock when correctly selected and installed. The manufacturer’s high-immunity designation is part of the WRB1 range specification.
Switched Live and Neutral
With a 1P+N configuration, the WRB110B-030 incorporates switched live and neutral contacts. Both conductors disconnect when the protective device operates, allowing the affected circuit to be isolated separately from other circuits.
The switched-neutral design can also assist certain insulation resistance testing procedures, subject to the selected test method and equipment connected to the circuit.
Single-Module Installation and Bi-Connect Terminals
The RCBO occupies approximately 18mm of DIN rail space, making it suitable for compatible consumer units and distribution boards where compact circuit protection is required.
Bi-connect terminals allow connection using suitable cables, pin-type busbars and fork/U-type busbars. The manufacturer specifies 2.5Nm tightening torque and mounting on an EN 60715 35mm DIN rail.
