WCED RCBO Circuit Protection

WCED RCBO devices are used where individual circuit protection is required within a compatible consumer unit or distribution board. Each RCBO combines overload, short-circuit and residual current protection in one unit, helping protect the individual circuit and reduce disruption compared with shared RCD protection.

Some products in this range may also be associated with Whitecliffe circuit protection as the range naming develops. We are keeping WCED references on this category to help customers find the products they already know, while also introducing Whitecliffe wording where relevant.

Available WCED RCBO Options

  • Type A RCBO options
  • B Curve and C Curve tripping curves
  • Different current ratings across the range
  • Options for domestic and commercial installations
  • Suitable for compatible consumer units and distribution equipment

Choosing the Correct WCED RCBO

Before ordering, check the required current rating, tripping curve, breaking capacity, residual current sensitivity and device format. The selected RCBO must also be compatible with the consumer unit, busbar arrangement and manufacturer requirements.

Type B RCBOs are commonly used for general domestic and light commercial circuits, while Type C RCBOs may be selected where the circuit design requires greater short-duration inrush current tolerance. The correct curve should always be confirmed by the electrician.

Need the Full RCBO Range?

This category focuses on WCED RCBO products and selected Whitecliffe circuit protection options. For the wider range of protective devices from multiple brands, visit our main RCBO circuit breakers category, including FuseBox, Hager, Live Electrical, Niglon and GARO options.

Installation Notes

WCED RCBOs should be selected, installed and tested by a qualified electrician in accordance with current UK wiring regulations and the manufacturer’s instructions. Always confirm device compatibility, busbar arrangement, rated current, breaking capacity and circuit requirements before installation.
