WCED WRB106B-030 Bi-Directional RCBO
The WCED WRB106B-030 Bi-Directional RCBO is a compact 6A B Curve protective device from the Whitecliffe Electrical WRB1 range. Combining overload, short-circuit and residual current protection within a single module, it features 30mA Type A high-immunity detection and a 6kA breaking capacity for appropriately designed electrical installations.
With its lower 6A current rating, the WRB106B-030 is particularly suited to consideration for smaller electrical loads, including suitable lighting and control circuits. Its bi-directional design also makes it an option for correctly specified solar photovoltaic installations where power flow may vary.

6A B Curve Protection for Lighting and Control Circuits
The WRB106B-030 provides 6A overcurrent protection with a B Curve tripping characteristic, commonly considered for circuits with relatively low starting currents. This can include appropriately rated lighting, electrical controls and auxiliary equipment supplies.
By combining both residual current and overcurrent protection in one device, the RCBO allows its assigned circuit to be protected independently, helping minimise disruption to other circuits when a fault occurs.
Bi-Directional Capability for Solar PV Applications
The WCED WRB106B-030 Bi-Directional RCBO is part of the WRB1 range developed for applications involving bi-directional electrical power flow.
For suitably designed photovoltaic installations, this capability allows the RCBO to be considered where the direction of power flow may change. The final selection must take account of the inverter characteristics, circuit configuration and applicable protective requirements.
The manufacturer’s specified terminal arrangements must always be followed. The WCED WRB1 datasheet identifies connection from the bottom.
Type A High-Immunity Residual Current Protection
The WRB106B-030 detects sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC residual fault currents, providing Type A protection suitable for consideration with a range of modern electrical equipment.
Its 30mA residual current sensitivity provides additional protection against electric shock when correctly installed. High-immunity operation is also identified by WCED as a feature of the WRB1 range.
Switched Live and Neutral
The 1P+N configuration includes switched live and neutral as standard. Both conductors disconnect when the protective device operates, supporting individual circuit isolation during electrical maintenance and inspection.
This arrangement can also make certain insulation resistance testing procedures more convenient, depending on the chosen testing method and the equipment connected.
Compact Single-Module Design and Bi-Connect Terminals
The WCED WRB106B-030 Bi-Directional RCBO occupies approximately 18mm of DIN rail space, providing a practical solution where room inside a compatible consumer unit or distribution board is limited.
Bi-connect terminals accommodate suitable cable, pin-type and fork/U-type busbar connections. WCED specifies a 2.5Nm terminal tightening torque and standard EN 60715 35mm DIN rail mounting.
