Timeguard TX2540 40A Type A Bi-Directional RCBO B Curve

The Timeguard TX2540 40A Type A Bi-Directional RCBO is a single-module residual current circuit breaker with overload and short-circuit protection, designed for modern electrical installations where electrical energy may flow in both directions, including photovoltaic, EV charging and battery storage systems.

Rated at 40A with a Type A residual current characteristic and 30mA sensitivity, this RCBO provides protection against AC and pulsating DC residual currents. The B curve tripping characteristic makes it suitable for circuits with low inrush currents, supporting reliable protection for domestic and light commercial applications.

The device features a single pole with switched neutral (1P+SwN) design in a single-module width, allowing high circuit density within consumer units. It mounts onto a standard 35mm DIN rail and can be removed without disturbing the busbar, simplifying installation and future maintenance.

With a 6kA short-circuit breaking capacity, the RCBO provides protection against earth faults, leakage current, short circuit and overloading. Terminals include an automatic blanking plate to prevent incorrect termination. The unit complies with BS EN 61009-1 and is intended for bi-directional applications in accordance with current wiring regulations.
