Rako RAK8-S 8-Channel Switching Rack for Wired and Wireless Systems
The Rako RAK8-S is an eight-channel switching rack designed for centralised control of non-dimmable lighting and electrical loads within Rako wired or wireless lighting control systems. Featuring eight independent relay outputs, it provides reliable switching for LED lighting, transformers, fans, pumps and other compatible loads.
Each channel can be individually configured or grouped with other channels using Rako RASOFT Pro software. The RAK8-S is suitable for installations requiring multiple lighting circuits to be controlled from a central location, including residential and commercial lighting control projects.

Eight-Channel Lighting and Load Control
The Rako RAK8-S contains eight independently controlled switching outputs. Each channel operates as an on/off relay, making the unit suitable for controlling non-dimmable loads rather than varying their brightness.

Wired and Wireless System Compatibility
The RAK8-S can be incorporated into either a wired or wireless Rako lighting control system using the appropriate LINK interface.
- RAK-LINK: Provides integration with Rako wired lighting systems and supports installations with up to 32 channels across compatible RAK units.
- RX-LINK: Enables wireless Rako control with a maximum of 16 channels per RX-LINK unit.
Multiple RAK switching and dimming units can be installed together to provide centralised control of larger lighting installations.

Installation and Commissioning
The RAK8-S is designed for centralised installation in a suitable electrical cupboard or control area. Its metal enclosure features cable-entry knockouts on the top, bottom, sides and rear to accommodate different wiring arrangements.
A compatible RAK-LINK or RX-LINK interface is required for operation within a Rako lighting control system. The rack is configured using RASOFT Pro commissioning software.
Installation must be undertaken by a competent electrician in accordance with Rako’s installation manual and applicable electrical regulations.
Important Information
The RAK8-S is a switching-only rack and does not provide dimming functionality. For dimmable lighting circuits, consider the appropriate Rako RAK8-MB motherboard and compatible dimmer cards.
RAK-LINK or RX-LINK is required separately. Select the appropriate interface according to whether the installation uses Rako wired or wireless lighting controls.
Connected loads must remain within the manufacturer’s specified limits for each output and the overall supply circuit.
