Live Electrical MMGU40C-SP EV Consumer Unit with RCBO, SPD and Busbar
Live Electrical MMGU40C-SP EV Consumer Unit
The Live Electrical MMGU40C-SP EV Consumer Unit is designed for dedicated electric vehicle charger installations in domestic and commercial settings. It includes a 2 pole 40A C Curve Type A RCBO, built-in surge protection device and pre-installed internal busbar, providing a compact solution for EV charger circuit protection.
This C Curve EV consumer unit is suitable for installations where the charger or circuit design requires a higher inrush current tolerance than a standard B Curve device. Correct selection should always be confirmed by the installer based on the charger specification, circuit design, Zs values and installation conditions.
Live Electrical products are designed and quality controlled by the brand’s UK-based team, with manufacturing carried out under supplier-controlled processes. All electrical work should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with current UK wiring regulations and manufacturer instructions.

What Makes the C Curve RCBO Useful?
The included 40A C Curve Type A RCBO is designed to tolerate higher short-duration inrush currents than a B Curve device. This can be useful for certain EV charger installations where the charger design or load characteristics may otherwise cause unwanted tripping.
However, a C Curve device is not automatically suitable for every installation. The electrician should confirm earth fault loop impedance, cable size, protective device suitability and all relevant installation requirements before fitting the unit.
