Rako WK-CONNECT Wired In-Ceiling Connection Unit with RJ11 Socket

The Rako WK-CONNECT is an in-ceiling wired connection unit designed to connect compatible Rako lighting control devices to the Rako wired network. Featuring an eight-way Krone punch-down connector and RJ11 socket, it provides a convenient interface between CAT5e/CAT6 network cabling and supported Rako wired accessories.

The WK-CONNECT also incorporates configurable network termination jumpers, allowing it to be installed in different Rako wired network arrangements. Its compact enclosure makes it particularly suitable for ceiling void installations and connection to Rako presence sensors, LED controllers and other wired control modules.

Key Features – Rako WK-CONNECT

  • Genuine Rako Controls wired network accessory
  • In-ceiling connection unit with RJ11 socket
  • Connects compatible Rako devices to the RAKOM wired network
  • Eight-way Krone punch-down connector for CAT5e/CAT6 wiring
  • RJ11 connection for compatible Rako wired equipment
  • Configurable network termination jumpers
  • Supports appropriate radial and star network arrangements
  • Compact housing suitable for installation in accessible ceiling voids
  • Powered directly from the Rako wired network
  • No separate mains power supply required for the connection unit

Connecting Rako Wired Devices

The Rako WK-CONNECT provides a connection between the Rako wired network and devices that use an RJ11 connection.

CAT5e or CAT6 network cables are terminated using the integrated punch-down connector, while the connected Rako device plugs into the RJ11 socket.

This arrangement is particularly useful where a Rako wired accessory is installed away from the main RAK-LINK or RAK-STAR connection equipment.

Compatible Rako Equipment

The WK-CONNECT is compatible with a range of Rako wired lighting control devices, including:

  • WK-PIR: Wired ceiling-mounted presence sensor
  • WLED30CV4: Wired constant voltage LED controller
  • WLED75CV1: Wired single-channel LED controller
  • WLED150CV1: Wired 150W constant voltage LED controller
  • WK-HUB: Wired Ethernet lighting control hub
  • WSR-DMX: Wired DMX control module
  • WSR-DLI: Wired DALI control module
  • WMR-DLI: Wired multi-room DALI controller
  • WRB100: Compatible Rako wireless signal repeater

Compatibility and connection arrangements should be checked against the installation documentation for the connected device.

Network Termination and Wiring

The WK-CONNECT includes termination jumpers that must be configured according to the position of the device within the Rako wired network.

Supported arrangements include:

  • No Term: Used where the connection unit is not at the end of a network run.
  • Term: Used at the end of a radial network connection.
  • Star Term: Used at the end of a star-wired network branch.

Correct termination is essential for reliable communication. The jumper positions must follow the Rako WK-CONNECT installation manual and the network wiring design.

Installation Requirements

The Rako WK-CONNECT should be installed by a competent person familiar with Rako wired network installations.

The CAT5e or CAT6 cable cores must be terminated according to the colour coding shown on the connection unit. The network termination jumpers must then be configured to match the installation topology.

The connected Rako device is linked through the RJ11 socket using the appropriate cable.

The unit should be installed in a dry, accessible location where the connections and network termination settings can be inspected if required.

Important Information

The Rako WK-CONNECT is a connection accessory only. It does not provide independent lighting control, dimming or switching functionality.

The WK-CONNECT is powered from the Rako wired network and must not be connected directly to a 230V mains supply.

Note: The Rako WK-PIR presence sensor is supplied with a WK-CONNECT connection unit. A separate WK-CONNECT may therefore not be required when purchasing a complete WK-PIR sensor.
