Hager CDB525HP Type B HP RCCB – 25A 30mA for Heat Pumps

The Hager CDB525HP Type B HP RCCB is a 25A, 30mA residual current circuit breaker designed for heat pump installations, particularly those incorporating inverter-driven compressors. This specialist device provides protection against AC, pulsating DC and smooth DC residual fault currents.

Discontinued – Replacement 63A Version Available

The Hager CDB525HP 25A Type B HP RCCB has been discontinued and is no longer available from Electrical4Less.

It has been superseded in our range by the Hager CDB563HP 63A 30mA Type B HP RCCB, which offers a higher rated current while retaining the same 30mA residual-current sensitivity and specialist Type B HP protection.

A 63A RCCB can replace a 25A RCCB on an appropriately protected circuit, provided the device is compatible with the installation. The higher current rating does not alter the existing circuit’s overload or short-circuit protection.

Original Hager CDB525HP Features

  • 25A rated current.
  • 30mA residual operating sensitivity.
  • Type B HP residual-current protection for heat pumps.
  • Detects sinusoidal AC, pulsating DC and smooth DC residual fault currents.
  • Specialist high-frequency characteristics for inverter-driven heat pump systems.
  • 1P+N configuration for suitable single-phase installations.
  • Designed to help reduce unwanted tripping associated with certain high-frequency leakage currents.
  • Requires separate overload and short-circuit protection.

Why Choose the Hager CDB563HP 63A Replacement?

The CDB563HP is the higher-current-rated alternative to the discontinued 25A model. It maintains the same 30mA sensitivity and Type B HP residual-current classification, making it suitable for consideration in existing and new heat pump installations.

The 63A rating indicates the current the RCCB is designed to carry under specified conditions. It does not mean that the device provides 63A overload protection.

For example, where a heat pump circuit is protected by a correctly selected 25A MCB or fuse, that protective device continues to provide overload and short-circuit protection when an appropriately specified 63A RCCB is installed.

Installers should confirm enclosure compatibility, protective device coordination and the heat pump manufacturer’s requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Has the Hager CDB525HP been discontinued?

Yes. The CDB525HP 25A Type B HP RCCB has been discontinued. Electrical4Less offers the higher-current-rated Hager CDB563HP 63A version as an alternative.

Can a 63A RCCB replace a 25A RCCB?

Yes. A 63A RCCB can be used on an appropriately protected 25A circuit, provided its residual-current characteristics and installation requirements are suitable. The separate 25A MCB or fuse continues to provide overcurrent protection.

Does the replacement provide the same 30mA sensitivity?

Yes. The CDB563HP retains 30mA residual-current sensitivity and Type B HP classification.

Does the 63A replacement provide overload protection?

No. Like the original 25A RCCB, the 63A version provides residual-current protection only. Suitable separate overcurrent protection is required.

Where can I purchase the replacement?

The Hager CDB563HP 63A Type B HP RCCB is listed at Electrical4Less with full product information and specifications.
