The Live Electrical CB316D 3 Pole 16A D Curve 10kA MCB is a bi-directional miniature circuit breaker designed for suitable three-phase AC installations. Combining a 16A current rating with a 10kA breaking capacity, it provides overload and short-circuit protection for circuits supplying equipment with high starting currents.
Features and applications
The CB316D features a D curve tripping characteristic, which permits higher instantaneous inrush currents than comparable B or C curve MCBs. This makes it an option for appropriately designed circuits supplying smaller three-phase motors, transformers and other inductive loads where nuisance tripping during equipment start-up needs to be considered.
Its three-pole configuration provides linked switching across all three phases, while the 54mm-wide housing fits standard 35mm DIN rail assemblies. The breaker is rated for 230/400V AC operation and features IP20 protection. Correct selection depends on the circuit’s prospective fault current, earth fault loop impedance and required disconnection times.
