The Live Electrical CB316B 3 Pole 16A B Curve 10kA MCB is a bi-directional miniature circuit breaker designed for suitable three-phase AC installations. With a 16A current rating and 10kA breaking capacity, it provides overload and short-circuit protection for commercial and industrial circuits requiring a B curve tripping characteristic.
Features and applications
The CB316B uses a B curve thermal-magnetic tripping mechanism, with instantaneous magnetic operation typically occurring between three and five times its rated current. This characteristic makes it particularly suitable for circuits with low starting currents, including resistive equipment and selected three-phase electrical loads where higher inrush tolerance is unnecessary.
Its three-pole configuration provides linked switching across all three phases, allowing coordinated disconnection of the circuit. The breaker occupies three standard 18mm DIN rail modules, with an overall width of 54mm, and mounts onto a standard 35mm DIN rail within suitable electrical distribution equipment.
Designed for 230/400V AC operation, the CB316B features IP20 protection and meets BS IEC/EN 60898 requirements. Correct selection should consider cable current-carrying capacity, prospective fault current and the required disconnection times.
