The Live Electrical CB340C 3 Pole 40A C Curve 10kA MCB is a bi-directional miniature circuit breaker for suitable three-phase AC distribution systems. Featuring a 40A current rating and 10kA breaking capacity, it provides overload and short-circuit protection for commercial and industrial electrical installations requiring a C curve tripping characteristic.

Features and applications

The CB340C uses a C curve thermal-magnetic tripping mechanism, making it suitable for circuits where moderate inrush currents are expected. With instantaneous magnetic operation typically occurring between five and ten times the rated current, it offers greater tolerance of equipment starting currents than an equivalent B curve MCB.

Potential applications include suitably designed three-phase distribution circuits supplying selected motors, transformers and other inductive equipment. The breaker provides linked switching across three poles, allowing simultaneous disconnection of all three phases.

Its 54mm-wide housing occupies three standard DIN rail modules and mounts onto a 35mm DIN rail within compatible distribution equipment. Designed for 230/400V AC operation, the CB340C features IP20 protection. Circuit selection must consider cable ratings, prospective fault current, protective device coordination and required disconnection times.
