WCED WRCUSP440C 3 Phase EV SPD Unit from the WCED Whitecliffe range combines residual current, overcurrent and surge protection within a robust 8 way metal enclosure for three phase electric vehicle charging installations.
Designed as a complete three phase protection solution, the WCED WRCUSP440C 3 Phase EV SPD Unit incorporates a 4 pole 40A C curve Type A RCBO together with a 4 pole Type 2 surge protection device.
The WCED Whitecliffe Type A RCBO is designed for individual EV charging applications and can respond to AC residual currents as well as pulsating DC components. The integrated Type 2 SPD helps protect connected electrical and electronic equipment against transient overvoltages caused by events including lightning and electrical switching.
Housed within an IP40 metal enclosure, the WCED WRCUSP440C 3 Phase EV SPD Unit provides a compact solution where dedicated three phase EV circuit protection and surge protection are required.
The unit is supplied with one busbar only, which is included loose for installation.

Type A RCBO Protection
The WCED WRCUSP440C 3 Phase EV SPD Unit uses a 4 pole Type A RCBO to provide residual current and overcurrent protection for the connected circuit. Type A technology can detect AC residual currents together with pulsating DC components, making it suitable for individual EV charger applications.
The 40A rating and C curve characteristics provide the C40A configuration of the WRCUSP4 series.
20/40kA Type 2 Surge Protection
The integrated 4 pole SPD is designed for 230/400V three phase + neutral networks. It provides a nominal discharge current of 20kA and a maximum discharge current of 40kA.
