Hager RCBO Circuit Protection

Hager RCBO devices are used to protect individual circuits within compatible Hager consumer units and distribution boards. Each RCBO combines overload, short-circuit and residual current protection in a single device, helping isolate faults to the affected circuit rather than switching off multiple circuits at once.

This range includes Hager RCBO options for domestic and light commercial installations, with different current ratings, tripping curves and breaking capacities available depending on the product selected.

Available Hager RCBO Options

  • 6kA and 10kA breaking capacity options
  • B Curve and C Curve tripping curves
  • Different current ratings across the range
  • Selected bidirectional RCBO options where available
  • Designed for use with compatible Hager boards and busbar systems

Choosing the Correct Hager RCBO

Before ordering, check the required current rating, tripping curve, breaking capacity, residual current type and device format. The selected RCBO must also be compatible with the Hager consumer unit, busbar arrangement and manufacturer requirements.

B Curve RCBOs are commonly used for general domestic and light commercial circuits, while C Curve RCBOs may be selected where the circuit design requires greater short-duration inrush current tolerance. The correct curve should always be confirmed by the electrician.

Compatible Hager Consumer Units

If you are choosing a board as well as protective devices, browse our Hager consumer units category. This includes compatible Hager board options for domestic and commercial installations, including Design Evo boards, SPD consumer units and RCBO board options.

Installation Notes

Hager RCBOs should be selected, installed and tested by a qualified electrician in accordance with current UK wiring regulations and the manufacturer’s instructions. Always confirm board compatibility, busbar arrangement, rated current, breaking capacity, residual current type and circuit requirements before installation.

Hager RCBO FAQs

What is a Hager RCBO used for?

A Hager RCBO is used to provide individual circuit protection against overload, short circuit and residual current faults within a compatible Hager consumer unit or distribution board.

Can Hager RCBOs be used in any consumer unit?

No. Hager RCBOs should only be used with compatible Hager consumer units and approved busbar arrangements. Always check manufacturer compatibility before installation.

What is the difference between 6kA and 10kA Hager RCBOs?

The kA rating refers to the short-circuit breaking capacity of the device. The correct rating should be chosen according to the installation design and fault level requirements.

Where can I find other RCBO options?

For other brands, ratings and device types, browse our main RCBO circuit breakers category.
