Solar PV SPD Surge Protection Devices

Solar PV SPDs are designed specifically for the DC side of photovoltaic installations. They help protect PV equipment against transient overvoltages that can occur as a result of lightning-related events and electrical switching.

DC Surge Protection for Solar PV Systems

DC SPDs are typically installed within the PV DC circuit between the solar array and inverter, depending on the design of the installation. Their purpose is to limit transient overvoltages and divert surge current away from sensitive photovoltaic equipment.

Solar PV surge protection can be used in domestic, commercial and larger photovoltaic systems, including installations with long DC cable runs or equipment located in exposed positions.

Choosing a Solar PV SPD

Orders Below £200 + VAT:
To keep costs manageable, we dispatch your order once all items are ready, including products with longer lead times.

Need items faster? You can pay for an additional delivery service to receive in-stock items sooner. Simply email us with your order details, and we’ll send you a payment link for the extra delivery cost.

Orders Above £200 + VAT:
For larger orders, we can split delivery at no extra cost. In-stock items will be sent immediately, with the remaining items dispatched once available.
