Description
Live Electrical AFDD combined with Type A 30mA RCBO – 10A
Arc fault protection devices (AFDD) are designed to help prevent fires by identifying fire propagating electrical arcs.
These can be caused by a number of things such as rodent damage, faulty cable insulation, crushed wires or even loose terminals. These devices combine conventional analogue measurements with microprocessors to quickly analyse data.
The quick ‘decision making’ of the unit allows it to detect potential faults before they can cause fire and become a risk to property and life. Since the release of BS7671 18th edition, new regulation 421.1.7 recommends the installation of these devices in a number of AC final circuits.
This is also likely to become mandatory in the future, so there’s never been a better time to start looking at your projects and how you can get ahead of the competition for both safety and quality.
